EgyptAir Airlines and NSAS Travel Group have signed an agreement for EgyptAir to join the new NDC reservation system, utilized by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and implemented under its direct supervision to enable direct booking between airlines and travel agencies.
The CEO of the NSAS Travel Group, Seif Bahgat, said that EgyptAir joining the new reservation system will aid in saving the value of ticket bookings, due to direct booking with tourism companies without intermediary systems that receive fees in dollars such as GDS reservation systems.
The new NDC reservation system is the first local Egyptian project in digitization.
It aims to keep pace with advanced global systems for booking airline tickets to provide the best offers and available bookings for customers traveling on airlines, at prices better than traditional global reservation systems.
Bahgat confirmed in press statements that the group was able to contract with Air Cairo Airlines to adopt the NDC system in booking airline tickets, which has helped save millions of dollars.
He added that the success of the new reservation system with Air Cairo Airlines contributed to EgyptAir’s interest in contracting with the group to apply the new system.
The group received an honor from EgyptAir for the advantages achieved by the new system in reducing ticket prices and booking fees, Bahgat added.
