EgyptAir issued an urgent statement to its customers on Sunday evening regarding flights to and from the Lebanese capital Beirut, in order to review and amend their flight reservations due to rising tensions in the region between Israel and Lebanon’s Hezbollah.
The company wrote on its Facebook page: “Important notice, please review your reservation to and from Beirut.”
It added: “You can contact EgyptAir’s call center on 1717 from any mobile phone inside Egypt… Landline number 090070000, or international number 97142306666+, or international number 966122297777.”
The company said that passengers can also visit the website or the nearest EgyptAir sales office or travel agent.
Previously, the Lufthansa Airlines Group announced in late July that it had suspended its flights to the Lebanese capital Beirut until July 30 due to rising tensions in the region.
The company added that the group’s flights, which include the Swiss International Air Lines, Eurowings and Lufthansa, were suspended “as a precautionary measure.”
A large number of passengers traveling through the Beirut International Airport said that their flights had been canceled.
This follows after a missile attack that killed over 12 people in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights in July, raising fears of a full-scale war between Israel and the Iranian-backed Hezbollah.
