EgyptAir Holding Company President Sameh Hefny said flights would as of 17 September take off from the new terminal of Heathrow Airport in London that is allocated for the Star Alliance airlines.
“The terminal adds to Heathrow Airport as one of the main crossings in Europe,” he said. “And EgyptAir will provide special services to passengers on board 15 weekly flights to London from Cairo and Luxor.”
The new terminal, which is called the Queen’s terminal, received on Wednesday the first flight by the American carrier United Airlines. It is prepared to receive 12 million Star Alliance passengers every year.
The 23 Star Alliance airlines will all for the first time be under one roof in the next six months to fly 121 daily flights to more than 45 destinations in 25 countries around the world.
