EgyptAir has complained of a smear campaign aimed at destabilizing and damaging the company’s reputation through the publication of false information concerning its management.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the company denied that the company’s chairperson was being investigated on corruption issues.
News reports stated that the administrative prosecution had commenced investigations of Chairperson Hussein Massoud concerning the squandering of LE13 million.
EgyptAir said it has submitted a report to the ruling Supreme Council for Armed Forces requesting it to investigate the issue.
“We referred to those who published the news and they said it was sent to all media channels including state-run television, and most of the national and privately-owned newspapers,” Massoud said in a statement, adding that the campaign aimed to tarnish the reputation of the company and those in charge of it.
