The Egyptian wheelchair handball team won the Third IHF Wheelchair Handball World Championship, held in Egypt from September 16-21, after defeating the US in the final match with two sets to none.
Egypt’s team performed strongly in the final match and managed to win the first set 6/1 before winning the second set 12/6.
The final match witnessed a brilliant performance from a large number of national team players, led by Magdy Talaat, the tournament’s most prominent star, Mohamed Hasballah Sweilem, Ahmed Salah, Toba Magdy, Ayat Ahmed, and others.
The full list of the Egyptian wheelchair handball team that participated in the world championship included: Sami Mansour, Toba Magdy, Mohamed Anwar, Mohamed Hasab Elnaby, Rabie Hosny, Ahmed Essam Khalil, Magdy Talaat, Ahmed Salah, Ayat Ahmed, and Iman Hassan.
The technical staff includes the general supervisor of the team Adel Ibrahim, the technical director Captain Wael Abdel-Aati, coach Mohamed Farag, administrative director Mohamed Abdel-Moneim, Doctor Ahmed Akram and physical therapy specialist Menatallah Mohamed.
This is the second edition of the championship, with the first also being held in Egypt in 2022, where the Egyptian team won second place and the silver medal.
