Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said his nation fully supports Yemen’s unity and stability, stressing its importance to Egypt and the Arab world at large.
He added that Egypt fully supports the Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen in its efforts to reach a political solution to the Yemeni crisis.
In a joint press conference held with the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Rashad Al-Alimi on Saturday following talks at the Ittihadeya Presidential Palace, President Sisi affirmed Egypt’s support for efforts to reach a just political solution to the Yemeni crisis to promote peace and stability.
Sisi said that he was eager to to emphasize Egypt’s firm stance regarding its solid relations with Yemen and its support towards legitimacy, unity, territorial integrity, and all efforts to achieve lasting peace.
Aiding a brotherly nation in need
Egypt will spare no effort in helping Yemen, Sisi stressed, adding and that his nation is keen to provide various aspects of support such as through training human cadres and providing medical and food aid.
The president explained that the talks also touched on the importance of enhancing aspects of cooperation between the two countries in the field of infrastructure development, and energy projects.
President Sisi welcomed Al-Alimi and his accompanying delegation on their first official visit to Egypt, after they assumed the presidency of the Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen.
The president expressed Egypt’s fully support for the Council with the heavy tasks it bears to achieve the interests of the Yemeni people.
Sisi affirmed Egypt’s support for the efforts of the Presidential Leadership Council in Yemen in order to reach a political, just and sustainable solution to the Yemeni crisis that guarantees peace and stability.
“During the talks, I stressed Egypt’s support for the brotherly Yemeni people and Yemeni legitimacy, as well as our full support for the unity, independence, and territorial integrity of the Yemeni state, and our vision for the security and stability of Yemen as of paramount importance to Egypt and the entire Arab world,” Sisi said.
