EgyptAir has announced it would launch two flight routes to Rwanda and Cameroon in 2019, in statement from company chairman Sherif Ezzat earlier this month.
According to AFP, Ezzat said that “Egypt will launch 3 flights a week to Rwanda’s capital Kigali and Cameroon’s economic capital Douala, starting mid-February 2019”.
Meanwhile, Minister of Aviation Younes al-Masri said during a visit to Cairo Airport that the ministry plans to strengthen cooperation with African countries, aiming to “upgrade the air transport industry in the continent.”
Egypt has launched direct flights to several African countries such as Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia and South Africa.
EgyptAir has yet to confirm the aircraft type for the operation to both Kigali and Douala but it is expected that the airline be the Airbus A320 aircraft in a dual class configuration of business and economy, according to the Logistics Update Africa website.
