Egypt to be exposed to a heat wave starting Wednesday

Egypt will be exposed to a heat wave, starting this  Wednesday, as temperatures will rise between 2C and 3C, hitting 44C in some areas, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority warned.

Very hot weather is expected during the day in most parts of the country, except for the northern coasts where hot weather is predicted. While a milder weather will prevail during the night hours.

Meteorologists advised citizens not to be exposed to the sun during the peak hours, to wear headscarves while going out on the street, and to drink cold drinks.

Meteorologists warned drivers against the fog during the early hours of the morning from 3 am to 7 am in the morning on ​​highways, agricultural roads and roads to water channels.

On Wednesday, the temperature in Greater Cairo is expected to reach 38C during the daylight hours and 24C at night.

Temperatures are expected to hit 44C in the governorates of southern Upper Egypt, during the daylight.

Active wind is expected sometimes in the evening over areas of Greater Cairo, the western coasts, and Lower Egypt, South Sinai, at intermittent intervals.

Meteorologists expect mist from 3 am to 7 am on ​​some highways leading to and from Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northern coasts and the cities of the Suez Canal.

Cairo and Lower Egypt 37C

North Coast 33C

South Sinai 38C

Northern Upper Egypt 38C

Southern Upper Egypt 42C
