Egypt imported textile products from India worth US$360 million during the 2014-2015 fiscal year, a statement by the Indian embassy in Cairo said Sunday.
Indian ambassador Sanjay Bhattacharyya said the total volume of trade between both countries stands at nearly US$5 billion, adding that his country’s total exports of textiles and clothes are worth US$40 billion, received by more than 140 countries.
The embassy’s statement comes as 33 Indian companies plan to attend the third edition of an Indian textile fair at the Cairo International Convention & Exhibition Center October 1-4.
