Egypt to take part in China’s COTTM in April

Egypt will take part in China Outbound Travel and Tourism Market (COTTM), which will last from 9 to 11 April, said Abul Maaty Shaarawy, head of the Egyptian Tourism Authority office in China.

Shaarawy added that the Chinese travel market is one of many that Egypt pays attention to and takes part at all its exhibitions. "We fulfill demands of the Chinese tourist during his visit to Egypt through Chinese restaurants, food, maps and guides who speak Chinese," he said.

The authority, according to Shaarawy, attracts tourists through different element like issuing the tourist bulletins in Chinese, he added.

Shaarawy also indicated to high turnout among Egyptian hotels and tourist agencies toward participation in the exhibition,as good results were achieved over the past years.

COTTM Director Matt Thomson said the session is the 10th to be organized and that Egypt is one of the founding countries in the exhibition, which is the only Chinese exhibition at which Chinese companies that work in external tourism participate.

Around 300 companies, representing 65 countries take part in this year’s exhibition. In addition, the exhibition administration invites around 500 Chinese companies to visit divisions of the participating countries in the exhibition so the vendor and customer meet to achieve positive results.
