The talks took place within the framework of the close strategic relations between the two brotherly countries and their mutual keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation across various fields, as well as to continue coordination and consultation on issues of mutual interest in a manner that serves the interests of both peoples.

This comes in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and head of the Sudanese Armed Forces Abdel Fattah al Burhan to strengthen coordination and consultation between the two countries.

He reiterated Egypt’s condemnation of the grave atrocities and violations witnessed in El Fasher and Kordofan, stressing Egypt’s full solidarity with the brotherly Sudanese people amid the severe challenges they are facing.

The spokesman added that Abdelatty asserted the importance of launching an effective humanitarian track to ensure unhindered access to humanitarian aid, alongside increasing relief support and enhancing cooperation with the United Nations, the African Union and humanitarian agencies.

He stressed the need for concerted regional and international efforts to support a comprehensive ceasefire and create conditions conducive to launching an inclusive political process that meets the aspirations of the Sudanese people for security, stability and development.

He also underscored the importance of enhancing coordination and integration among existing regional and international tracks to resolve the Sudanese crisis, in order to achieve greater effectiveness and coherence.

For his part, Salem expressed appreciation for Egypt’s supportive role toward Sudan and its people, commending Egypt’s political and humanitarian efforts, as well as its intensive relief and medical assistance to the Sudanese people.
