Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry made a phone call to his Syrian counterpart Faisal Mekdad on Monday, offering condolences for the victims of the earthquake that befell Syria.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson Ahmed Abu-Zeid said that Shoukry conveyed to Mekdad the Egyptian government’s assurance to send urgent relief aid to help Syria recover from the disaster.
The Foreign Minister also expressed sincere wishes for the success of the ongoing rescue efforts, and a speedy recovery for the injured.
The Syrian Foreign Minister expressed his sincere appreciation towards Egypt’s support for Syria in facing the disaster.
