Egypt sends third aid convoy to Lebanon, evacuates hundreds of citizens

Egypt has sent a third aid shipment to Beirut in a show of its solidarity with Lebanon, while evacuating another 293 of its citizens from the war-torn nation, RT Arabic reported,

The latest evacuation brings the total number of Egyptians repatriated to 883.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the third aid shipment, weighing 23 tons, is filled with essential food, medical supplies, and relief items.

This gesture is in direct response to the Egyptian President’s directive to provide all possible support to Lebanon and its people in the face of ongoing Israeli aggression.

The ministry highlighted that the total volume of Egyptian aid to Lebanon has now reached 67 tons.

The Egyptian Embassy in Beirut, along with representatives from the Lebanese government and relief agencies, received the latest shipment.

 

Stranded citizens returned

The Egyptian Embassy in Beirut facilitated the return of 293 stranded Egyptians and their families to their homeland.

This brings the total number of repatriated citizens to 883, who were brought back on special flights operated by EgyptAir.

The ministry emphasized that the Egyptian Embassy in Beirut continues to receive applications from Egyptian citizens wishing to return home and will include them in subsequent evacuation flights.

Egypt is actively coordinating with all relevant national authorities to mitigate the impact of the Israeli war on Lebanon. Efforts are underway to secure an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire, as well as to provide as much humanitarian aid as possible to the Lebanese people.

The ministry assured all Egyptian citizens in Lebanon that the embassy remains committed to providing all necessary support, whether through repatriation or consular services, amid the deteriorating security situation.
