Egypt sees rainfall for Wednesday and Thursday

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority announced that rainfall is expected for Wednesday and Thursday, the first of a wave of unstable weather for this year’s fall season.

Meteorologists predict moderately hot weather on Wednesday during the daytime at Cairo and Lower Egypt. Moderate weather is expected on the northern coasts, and hot weather is expected in South Sinai and on Upper Egypt.

The weather will grow moderately cold on Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northwestern coasts, and northern Upper Egypt at night, mild over the northeastern coasts, and moderate on South Sinai and southern Upper Egypt.

Maximum temperatures:

  • Northwestern coasts: 27C
  • Northeastern coasts, Central Sinai: 28C
  • Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt: 30C
  • South Sinai, Red Sea Mountain range: 34C
  • South of Upper Egypt: 38C

There is a chance of rainfall in Greater Cairo (50 percent), Lower Egypt (60 percent), the northeastern coasts (40 percent), and northwestern coasts (80 percent).

Winds will be moderate, active in some parts of South Sinai.

On Thursday, moderate weather is expected on Cairo and the northern coasts, with hot weather in South Sinai and Upper Egypt.

The weather will grow moderately cold on Cairo, Lower Egypt, northwestern coasts, and northern Upper Egypt at night, while mild on northeastern coasts, and moderate on South Sinai and southern Upper Egypt.

  • Northeastern coasts, Central Sinai: 23C
  • Northwestern coasts: 26C
  • Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt: 28C
  • South Sinai, Red Sea Mountain range: 33C
  • North of Upper Egypt: 34C
  • South of Upper Egypt: 38C

There is a chance of rainfall in Greater Cairo (70 percent), Lower Egypt (80 percent) and northeastern coasts (90 percent), northwestern coasts (90 percent), north Upper Egypt (30 percent).

Winds are expected to be mostly moderate, active at times on north Upper Egypt, far west of the northwestern coasts, the eastern coasts and in South Sinai, possibly disrupting maritime navigation on the Gulf of Suez.
