Egypt's stock market continued negative performance for the eighth session in a row, as the benchmark EGX30 index went down by 0.22 percent on Monday, recording 8,515.63 points and a turnover of LE 366.8 million, the Egyptian Exchange data showed.
Meanwhile, the small and mid-cap EGX70 index and the broader EGX100 index declined by 0.46 percent and 0.43 percent, respectively.
Arab and local institutions were net sellers, recording net flows of LE36.2 million and LE301,224, respectively, while foreign institutions were net buyers, recording net flows of LE20.1 million.
The EGX market capital lost LE1.66 billion (US$218 million), hitting LE484.55 billion, compared to LE486.21 billion on Sunday.
