Egypt’s market loses LE12.4 billion on Tuesday, EGX30 down 2.6%

Egypt's market extended its heavy losses on Tuesday's session, as the benchmark EGX30 index dropped 2.58 percent, recording 7,398.43 points and a turnover of LE501 million, the Egyptian Exchange data showed.

Meanwhile, the small and mid-cap EGX70 index and the broader EGX100 index fell 2.44 percent and 1.73 percent, respectively.

The market fell on Tuesday after oil prices extended losses, dampening the mood across the Middle East, according to Reuters.

Foreign and Arab institutions were net sellers, recording net flows of LE4 million and LE12.4 million, respectively, while local institutions were net buyers, recording net flows of LE20.2 million.

The EGX market capital lost LE12.4 billion (US$1.6 billion), hitting LE456.13 billion, compared to LE468.54 billion on Monday.
