Egypt promotes Khaled al-Enany’s bid for UNESCO leadership

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Migration organized a high-profile event at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization to support Khaled al-Enany’s candidacy for UNESCO Director-General.

The event saw the participation of over 100 ambassadors accredited to Egypt, alongside prominent Egyptian officials and dignitaries.

Attendees included Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration Badr Abdelatty, Somali Foreign Minister Ahmed Moalim Fiqi as guest of honor, several Egyptian cabinet ministers, former foreign ministers Amr Moussa and Sameh Shoukry, and other high-ranking officials.

In his address, Abdelatty emphasized that Enany’s candidacy reflects Egypt’s cultural and scientific stature and his qualifications as an experienced administrator and academic.

He noted that Egypt’s nomination seeks to enhance Arab and African representation at UNESCO, as no Arab figure has led the organization since its inception.

For his part, Enany expressed gratitude for Egypt’s backing and outlined his vision for UNESCO’s future, focusing on education, culture, and science. His campaign website, www.khaledelenany.com, was officially launched during the event.
