Egypt, New Zealand agree on exporting oranges to New Zealand markets

Egypt’s Minister of Agriculture Ezz el-Din Abu Steit and his New Zealand counterpart Damien O’Connor agreed on Wednesday on exporting Egyptian oranges to New Zealand markets, discussing measures of exportation according to the requirements of New Zealand markets.

The two ministers also signed a cooperation document for the implementation of a two-year work program to address several agricultural issues.

Abu Steit clarified that global markets import Egyptian Citrus due to its high quality, adding that Egypt manages to open new markets for Egyptian agricultural crops worldwide due to the high quality of the country’s produce.

He asserted that New Zealand has experience in the fields of agriculture and produce, high-quality livestock, and milk products, and asked for increased cooperation between the two countries.
