The Egyptian national footbal team has made the list of FIFA’s top ten football teams for the first time, coming in at number nine.
Egypt came ahead of all other Arab and African national teams, as well as powerhouses such as Italy and France.
Spain topped the list after winning the 2010 World Cup, followed by Holland, Brazil, Germany, Argentina, Uruguay, England and Portugal.
As for Arab teams, Egypt came in first, followed by Algeria, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
Egyptian team coach Hassan Shehata was pleased with his team’s ranking, though he expected Egypt’s place to fall in next month’s list after they failed to reach the 2010 World Cup.
