Rafik Abbasy, chairman of the gold division of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, said Egypt imports 30 tons of raw gold every year, denying that the decline in world gold prices increased imports.
The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics had said that raw gold imports were increased in November 2014 by 9.6 percent to LE42.65 billion compared to LE38.9 billion in November 2013.
