Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum raised fuel prices on Friday. The increase applies to all octane levels and diesel.
Following repeated delays, the committee responsible for setting petroleum product prices opted to bring them in line with global trends.
Diesel prices jumped to EGP 10 per liter, up from EGP 8.25. Octane prices have also been raised.
All octane levels saw a price increase of EGP 1 per liter, bringing the price of octane 80 to EGP 11 per liter.
Octane 92 and 95 prices rose: EGP 12.50 and EGP 13.50 per liter respectively.
Butane cylinders for home use are also affected, with the 12.5kg option going up to EGP 100.
