The head of the Central Administration for Preventive Affairs at the Health and Population Ministry, Mohamed Abdel-Fattah assured that the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is readily available for those who wish to travel with a QR Code certificate.
During a phone interview with “Nagham FM” radio, Abdel-Fattah added that the registration is done through Health Ministry’s website upon choosing the vaccination centers for travelers, and after registering a message will be sent within 72 hours.
There are 126 centers qualified to get the QR code certificate, he said.
The government is eager to provide as many vaccines as possible, he added, especially for those wishing to travel abroad.
And directives are in place to provide approved vaccines for countries that want specific vaccine, he said.
Regarding a potential fourth wave of the virus, Abdel-Fattah assured that the ministry is on high alert and stressed that everyone register on the official website to be vaccinated.
While cases are increasing, he noted that the situation within Egypt remains reassuring.
“We are working to monitor the infected cases while imposing precautionary measures,” he stressed.
The Health Ministry announced Monday that 261,600 doses of Johnson & Johnson vaccine had been received at Cairo International Airport, in cooperation with the African Union.
This comes within the ministry’s plan to diversify and expand the provision of coronavirus vaccines, with future shipments of the vaccine to arrive successively soon.
