Egypt and France have signed a cooperation agreement for the conservation of antiquities at a number of museums in Cairo, Egypt’s Antiquities Ministry announced on Monday.
The ministry said the agreement with France’s Higher Education and Research Ministry is designed to share conservation expertise with the Grand Egyptian Museum, the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization and the French Institute of Oriental Archaeology.
The ministry’s international cooperation official, Ahmed Ebeid, said the agreement involves joint cooperation in archaeological activities, as well as the training of conservators on modern technologies in the field.
