Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ahmed Abu-Zeid announced that the ministry has created a registration link to facilitate the return of Egyptian citizens and their families from the Gaza Strip.
The data of any citizens wishing to return is received quickly and effectively, the ministry said, and ensues that that the registration mechanism is limited to just one link.
Abu-Zeid explained that as soon as the data is received, detailed lists will be prepared to deliver them directly to those in charge of the Rafah border crossing from the Egyptian and Palestinian sides, facilitating the process of their crossing from the Gaza Strip to Egyptian territories.
The Foreign Ministry called on Egyptian citizens in the Gaza Strip to limit channels of communication and registration through this new mechanism, as it is the only official means of returning to their homeland.
Any other purported methods are fraudulent, the ministry warned, made by scammers looking to exploit the Gaza crisis.
The Egyptian authorities affirm their keenness to ensure the safe exit of Egyptian citizens and their families from the Gaza Strip to preserve their safety, in light of the continuing violent military assault taking place in the Strip.
