Egypt FM, Palestine PM discuss preparations for Gaza reconstruction conference

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa discussed during a phone call on Friday the ongoing preparations for the Gaza Reconstruction, Early Recovery, and Development Conference scheduled to be held in Cairo during the second half of November.

An Egyptian Foreign Ministry statement said that the call witnessed an exchange of views between the two sides regarding the conference within the framework of joint coordination.

Both discussed all the details related to the conference’s objectives and expected outcomes, particularly those related to funding and financial pledges, in addition to assessing and updating the extent of the destruction in Gaza.

During the call, the Foreign Minister indicated his desire for the active participation of all parties in the international community in the conference, which Egypt will organize under the Arab-Islamic plan previously approved by Arab and Islamic countries and a large number of members of the international community.

Abdelatty also noted the ongoing coordination regarding the implementation of US President Trump’s peace plan regarding the redevelopment of the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian Prime Minister commended Egypt’s efforts and its hosting of the conference, expressing appreciation for Egypt’s role in reaching an agreement to end the war in Gaza and defending the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
