Egypt, EU probe means to boost bilateral health cooperation

Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Health Minister, discussed with Ambassador Christian Berger, Head of the European Union Delegation to Egypt, means to enhance bilateral health cooperation.

The meeting was held on Friday on the sidelines of the 2nd edition of Africa Health ExCon conference to mull opportunities for supporting the health sector by the European Union.

Abdel Ghaffar lauded the ongoing support offered by the EU to upgrade the health sector in Egypt to provide citizens with the best medical services.

The meeting tackled the EU’s plan on cementing cooperation with the health sector in the field of vaccines production, backing public health initiatives, expanding in national health campaigns and supporting the universal health insurance projects and the digital transition of healthcare services.

At the end of the meeting, the ambassador was invited to attend the conference of population and development, to be hosted by Egypt in September under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, the minister added.

Africa Health ExCon, held on June 6-10, is the largest Medical Conferences and Exhibition in Africa which is endorsed by the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply, and the Management of Medical Technology (UPA).
