Egypt has qualified to the semifinals in the 31st Africa Cup of Nations, after overcoming Morocco 1-0 on Sunday, during a quarterfinal match played in Gabon.
The win against Morocco is the first since 31 years, when an Egypt-Morocco game ended with 1-0 in the semifinals of 1986, with Egypt hosting the Cup.
The national team is now set to meet Burkina Faso on Wednesday. The latter drew 0-0 against Tunisa.
The two teams seemed to be cautious and defensive rather than being attackers through the first half of the match. However, they boosted their performance over the second half of the match.
The teams seemed to put more punch than in the first half, with the Egyptian team rallying and managing to score during the last 15 minutes.
Although, the Moroccans were playing very well, the Egyptians were lucky. During the last 15 minutes, the team stars played better offense, until Mahmoud Kahraba finally made a late-win score in the 87th minute of the game.
