The Egyptian Football Federation has denied reports that the Egyptian national team had withdrawn from scheduled qualifiers for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations due to ongoing political instability in Egypt.
A statement issued by the federation said that the national team would begin training for its first scheduled match with South Africa, slated for 26 March.
The statement added that national team coach Hassan Shehata was "free to decide" if training should take place in Egypt or abroad.
