The AlQahera News Channel reported a high-ranking Egyptian source on Tuesday as saying that Israeli media reports regarding Egypt assuming security responsibilities inside Gaza Strip are all false.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday harshly condemned Israel’s operations near the Palestinian city of Rafah and its resulting control over the Palestinian side of the Rafah border crossing.
In a statement, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry warned that this escalation threatens the lives of more than a million Palestinians who depend primarily on this crossing as it is the main lifeline for Gaza Strip and serves as a safe outlet for wounded and ill to receive treatment alongside facilitating the entry of critical aid.
Egypt called on Israel to exercise the utmost restraint and not threaten the strenuous efforts made to reach a sustainable truce within Gaza.
Egypt also called on all influential international parties to intervene and exert the necessary pressure to defuse the current crisis and allow diplomatic efforts to achieve their desired results.
