This position reflects the state’s continuous efforts to establish the foundations of security and enhance social stability.
The policies adopted by the state in recent years have contributed to creating a safe environment that attracts investments and supports development, thereby strengthening the confidence of international institutions in Egypt’s ability to face regional changes and maintain stability amidst successive regional disturbances.
Improvement in global peace and security indices
Certifications from various international officials and institutions regarding the improvement of the security situation in Egypt:
Institute for Economics & Peace: IEP Affirmed that Egypt has become the most improved country in the Global Peace Index (GPI) over the past decade, citing improved safety and security indicators, alongside a decrease in violent crimes and violent demonstrations.
GPI ranking: Egypt advanced 38 places in the GPI, reaching 107th place in 2025 (compared to 145th in 2014).
World Economic Forum (WEF) – Security and Safety Index: Egypt advanced 63 places, reaching 73rd place in 2024 (compared to 136th in 2015).
WEF – Safety Walking Alone at Night Index: Egypt climbed 19 places, reaching 10th place in 2024 (compared to 29th in 2019).
UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UNSDSN) – Control of Crime Index: Egypt advanced 21 places, reaching 81st place in 2024 (compared to 102nd in 2014).
Decline in terrorism and crime indicators
The infographics highlighted international indicators showing a decrease in terrorism and crime in Egypt:
IEP – Global Terrorism Index: Egypt fell 18 places (which reflects a decrease in terrorism), reaching 29th place in 2024 (compared to 11th in 2014).
IEP – Crime Perception Index: Egypt improved 111 places (which indicates a decrease in crime levels), reaching 32nd place in 2025 (compared to 143rd in 2014).
WEF – homicide rate (per 100,000 people): Egypt advanced 24 places, reaching 44th place in 2024 (compared to 68th in 2015).
UNSDSN – homicide rate (per 100,000 people): Egypt ascended 23 places, reaching 56th place in 2024(compared to 79th in 2014).

UK Government stated that the crime rate in Egypt is generally low, confirming that nearly one million Britons travel to Egypt annually, with most visits being trouble-free.
