Egyptian businessman and Chairman of the General Federation of Investors Associations Mohammed Farid Khamis passed away on Saturday in the US following a battle with heart disease.
Khamis’s body will be returned to Egypt for burial.
His health worsened earlier in September, after he had traveled to the US in June to perform heart surgery.
The Secretary-General of the federation Mahmoud Khamis Shaban said that the federation postponed the General Assembly and Board of Directors meetings following Khamis’s death.
Khamis was considered the spiritual father of the federation, and one of the pioneers of Egypt’s industry.
