Egypt braces for intense heat and morning fog

The General Authority of Meteorology has issued a warning regarding Thursday’s expected weather conditions. We’re seeing disrupted maritime navigation in the Gulf of Suez, with waves reaching 3 meters above sea level.

Temperatures will be warm to hot during the day across northern Egypt, including Greater Cairo and Northern Upper Egypt. It will be extremely hot in South Sinai and Southern Upper Egypt. Nighttime and early morning will see moderate temperatures across most areas.

Expect misty fog in the morning (4 AM to 8 AM), which may be dense at times on some roads leading to the Northern Coasts, Nile Delta, Greater Cairo, Canal Cities, and North and Central Sinai.

Maritime navigation will be disturbed in the Gulf of Suez, with wind speeds reaching 50-60 km/h and wave heights of 2-3 meters.

The Mediterranean Sea is expected to be light to moderate, with wave heights ranging from 1 to 1.75 meters.

The Red Sea will be moderate, with wave heights between 1.5 and 2 meters.

Cairo’s temperatures will reach a high of 34°C and a low of 23°C.
