Egypt authorities addresses Zamalek SC over Mortada Mansour

Egypt’s Ministry of Youth and Sports sent an official letter to Zamalek Sporting Club, informing it of the illegality of Mortada Mansour presiding over any meeting of the Board of Directors of the club, due to the issuance of a ruling by the Administrative Court to remove him from his position.

“We inform you about the implementation of the ruling issued by the Administrative Court.. We also inform you that the rulings of the administrative judiciary are enforceable even if they are in the process of appeal, in accordance with Article 50 of the State Council Law,” the letter reads.

“The club must implement the ruling issued not to attend Mortada Mansour to any meetings of the Board of Directors, and the need for the Board of Directors to determine who is in charge of the work of the Board of Directors until the nearest general assembly.”

The Directorate of Youth and Sports demanded the Acting Executive Director of Zamalek Club, to quickly provide them with the required.

The Ministry Sports announced last month the implementation of the ruling issued by the Administrative Court in Cairo against Mansour.

The ruling was to remove him from the position of chairing the board of directors of Zamalek Sporting Club.

The court’s ruling was to “remove the status” of Mansour after accepting a lawsuit filed by two former members of the Zamalek board of directors and others to demand his removal.

This came after he was imprisoned for a month, on charges of insulting and defaming Al-Ahly Sporting Club President Mahmoud al-Khatib.

Mansour was imprisoned for one month, from February 25 to March 25, on charges of insulting and defaming Al-Ahly Sporting Club President Mahmoud al-Khatib.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports revealed that it assigned the Directorate of Youth and Sports in Giza to implement the ruling of the Administrative Court, and to notify Zamalek Club.

The ministry called for the appointment of an acting chairman for the board of directors at the nearest ordinary general assembly.

They were also instructed to add an election clause in the meeting, in order to complete the current term for seasons 2021/2025.
