Egypt announces Metro operating hours during Ramadan

The National Authority for Tunnels, affiliated with the Ministry of Transport, has announced adjustments to metro operating hours on the three metro lines in Greater Cairo and the Light Rail Transit (LRT) during the month of Ramadan, to better facilitate passenger movement.

 

Metro operating hours schedule during Ramadan 2025

  • Line I:
    • Metro operating hours begin from Helwan and El Marg El Gedida stations at 5:15 am.
    • The last train departs from Helwan station at 12:15 am.
    • The last train departs from El Marg El Gedida station at 12:30 am.
  • Line II:
    • Metro operating hours begin from Shubra El Kheima and El Mounib stations at 5:15 am.
    • The last train departs from both stations at 12:40 am.
  • Line III:
    • The last train departs from Cairo University station on Line III at 12:20 am.
    • The operating hours of Line III are extended by one hour, with the station closing at approximately 2:00 am instead of 1:00 am.

 

Interchange Times:

The last trains to connect and interchange between Lines I and II meet at Anwar El Sadat station at 1:00 am.

The last trains to connect and interchange between Lines I and III meet at Gamal Abdel Nasser station at 12:30 am.

The last trains to connect and interchange between Lines II and III meet at Al Ataba station at 12:30 am.

 

Light Rail Transit (LRT) operating hours during Ramadan

The Light Rail Transit (LRT) operating hours are as follows:

  • The first train departs from Adly Mansour towards Arts and Culture at 6:00 am.
  • The first train departs from Adly Mansour towards New Obour (Knowledge) at 6:15 am.
  • The first train departs from Arts and Culture towards Adly Mansour at 6:05 am.
  • The first train departs from New Obour (Knowledge) towards Adly Mansour at 6:57 am.
  • The first train departs from Badr Station towards Adly Mansour at 5:56 am.
