Egypt, Algeria FMs reaffirm close coordination on regional issues

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a phone conversation with his Algerian counterpart Ahmed Attaf to review bilateral relations and current regional developments.

During the talks, both ministers agreed on the importance of sustained coordination between Cairo and Algiers in political, economic, and cultural fields, reflecting the strong understanding between the two governments.

They discussed the situation in Gaza and reviewed the outcomes of the recent Sharm El-Sheikh peace summit. Abdelatty shared details on the ongoing preparations for the upcoming conference in Cairo on Gaza’s recovery and reconstruction, with a broad international and regional participation.

The ministers stressed the need for unified Arab efforts to support the process and secure funding.

Regarding Libya, both parties firmly supported a Libyan-led political resolution to maintain the country’s unity and sovereignty, stressing the immediate need for all foreign forces and mercenaries to depart.

They also backed continued coordination under the tripartite mechanism between Egypt, Algeria, and Tunisia to follow up on developments and maintain joint efforts for stability.
