Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Amr Nassar said on Friday that his ministry aims to make Egypt a regional and international center for international exhibitions, pointing out the ministry’s keenness to benefit from international and European expertise in general and German in particular in organizing international exhibitions.
This came during Nassar’s meeting with President & CEO of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH Werner Dornscheidt and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting reviewed arrangements for Egypt to host the Middle East and Africa “Pacprocess” exhibition, which will be organized annually by Messe Düsseldorf GmbH in Cairo beginning in December 2019, and in conjunction with the Food Africa exhibition in the food and agricultural products industry.
Nassar said that Egypt’s hosting of the Pacprocess exhibition for the Middle East and Africa represents a real starting point for Egyptian products to enter the markets of the Middle East and Africa, and it contributes to the expansion and increase of intra-trade between the markets of all participating countries.
Pacprocess 2019, the International Exhibition for Processing & Packaging in the Middle East and Africa, is a comprehensive and highly-targeted exhibition that addresses the requirements of the food, beverage, confectionery, bakery, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, non-food, and industrial goods sectors in the Middle East and Africa region.
The trade fair brings together local and international industry stakeholders from across the entire value chain to showcase cutting-edge technologies and forge lucrative partnerships.
Held for the first time in Egypt from December 9-10 at the Cairo International Convention and Exhibition Center, the event will capitalize on mega opportunities in one of the major economic hubs in North Africa, which also serves as the gateway to regional markets.
Pacprocess Middle East Africa 2019 is the newest addition to the Interpack Alliance, which spans all international events staged by Messe Düsseldorf GmbH under its processing & packaging portfolio.
Nassar said that the exhibition will be the first international exhibition in Egypt, Africa and the Middle East in the field of packaging organized Messe Düsseldorf GmbH, especially since Germany is a leading country in the organization of exhibitions and conferences in the world.
He added that the exhibition aims to open up to the markets of the Middle East and Africa through the Egyptian market as a window to the markets of the continent through free trade agreements that link Egypt with many countries and major economic blocs in the continent, as well as the Egyptian logistics centers established in a number of African countries.
