Egyptian Football Association (EFA) President Hani Abou Rida congratulated the Egyptian international and Liverpool FC striker Mohamed Salah after he led his team to win the UEFA Champions League.
“This historic achievement is a source of pride for every Egyptian and football fan,” he said in a statement. “We hope that this will be a good omen for all of us regarding Salah’s leadership of the national team to win the Africa Cup of Nations,” Abou Rida said.
Abou Rida added that he speaks on behalf of EFA and millions of football fans in Egypt.
Liverpool FC won the UEFA Champions League trophy on Saturday in a 2-0 game against Tottenham. Salah scored the first goal in the game.
