Education minister praises depth of Egypt-UAE relations

Minister of Education and Technical Education Reda Hegazy affirmed the depth of relations binding Egypt and the UAE in various domains, including pre-university education, lauding Khalifa Award for Education in the UAE and in the Arab world in disseminating the culture of excellence locally and internationally and promoting creativity, innovation, scientific and pedagogical research throughout the various educational phases, in addition to luring best international practices in this regard.

In a meeting on Tuesday with a visiting delegation representing the general secretariat of the board of trustees of Khalifa Award for Education to discuss fostering educational and academic cooperation with institutions and demystifying the award’s perspectives, goals and fields amplified in its 16th edition, the minister underscored the ministry of education’s support to the award within the framework of strengthening bilateral cooperation.

Khalifa Award for Education is an educational award founded by late UAE president Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahyan, including all categories of those working in the field of education in the UAE and in the Arab world.

For his part, Mohamed Salem al-Daheri, member of the award’s board of trustees’ general secretariat highlighted the deep historical relations between Egypt and the UAE, saying the visit aimed at further enhancing cooperation between the two sides to serve education progress in Egypt and the UAE.

The award covers 10 domains including 17 categories related to educational, scientific and research spheres.

It also aims to unlock the full potential and promote the capabilities of educators by creating an environment conducive to enabling educators to excel in an honest competition that releases their innovative capabilities and recognizes their outstanding educational skills.

The Award also comprises various categories at the local level in the areas of General Education; Education for People with Special Needs; Creating Knowledge Networks; New Media and Education; Education and the Sustainable Environment; and Education and Community Service.

There are other general educational categories within the UAE and throughout the Arab world including Higher Education; Educational Research; Projects and Innovative Educational Programs, and Educational Authoring for Children.

The Award’s major objective is to motivate and promote the development of the educational field within the UAE and in the Arab world at large, based on the conviction by the Award’s board and general secretariat that both of these fields complement each other.

Since its inception, the Khalifa Award for Education, as a pioneering institution, is committed to the promotion of excellence and a culture of innovation, and the celebration of distinguished skills within the educational field.
