According to Visa Inc., internet commerce is expected to contribute US$6 billion to Egypt's economy by 2017.
The company supports the digitalization of government payments in Egypt through developing an action plan and sponsoring stakeholder workshops on jointly identified issues, Head of Global Financial Inclusion at Visa Inc., Stephen Kehoe said.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, he added that the initiative also includes efforts to boost e-commerce in Egypt through increasing partnerships with financial institutions.
