The Environment Ministry announced that unstable dusty weather would hit Egypt on Wednesday.
South to southwestern winds accompanied by dust were expected to hit Greater Cairo on Monday and Tuesday, according to the ministry.
A statement released by the ministry on Tuesday said that the dusty winds will have a negative impact on air quality. However in case of rainfall the air quality is expected to improve, according to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority.
The Ministry pointed out that it continuously monitors air quality through the inspection patrols of the ministry which launches crackdowns on the sources of pollution on regular basis.
It warned industrial zones south of Cairo to take necessary measures to reduce air contaminants.
The Ministry advised the elderly citizens and those with chest and respiratory diseases to avoid leaving their houses during the unstable dusty weather.
