The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) issued an urgent weather warning of high temperatures and active winds throughout the country.
Weather maps showcased wind activity stirring sands and dust over areas of Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the Suez Canal cities, the Gulf of Suez, and northern Upper Egypt, impacting horizontal visibility in parts of the northwestern coasts and the Western Desert.
The EMA advised postponing any unnecessary trips, avoiding direct exposure to sunlight during rush hour, consuming plenty of fluids, and for patients with sinus and chest allergies to wear facemasks while leaving the house.
Wednesday will see a noticeable and temporary rise in temperatures with values ranging from five to six degrees Celsius in all parts of the world, with very hot weather in Egypt.
Winds stirring up sand and dust are expected in areas from the north of the country to Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt, occasionally impacting visibility in areas west of the country.
Temperatures expected on Wednesday:
- Hurghada, Sharm el-Sheikh: 34C
- Cairo, Alexandria: 36C
- Luxor and Aswan: 37C
