Hurghada Criminal Court sentenced on Saturday a taxi driver to six years in prison over abducting an eight-year Syrian girl and trying to rape her.
37-year old Khalaf Abdel Rahman allegedly kidnapped the girl in a remote mountain area in his cab, beat her and tried to rape her after stripping her off clothes.
After the girl’s mother filed a police report, the driver was arrested and referred to prosecution, which in turn referred him to criminal court.
