Dozens of disabled people protest before Abdeen complaint office

Dozens of people with physical disabilities protested in front of Abdeen Palace citizens' complaints office on Saturday afternoon. They demanded the application of the law granting 5 per cent of the jobs to the disabled.
 
The protestors chanted “Farce, farce, it is the same gang [ruling the country]” and “Liars, liars, in the complaints office.” They held banners bearing the slogan, “The complaints office is unfair.”
 
Protesters briefly blocked the road in front of Abdeen Palace, before police convinced them to re-open the road so as not to disrupt the traffic.
 
Mustafa Eid Abdel Mokhtar, one of the protestors, said, “We have filed complaints since 7 July. No one replied to us so far.”
 
A palace source told Al-Masry Al-Youm the complaints office has already started to solve citizen's problems, after the compliants were categorized. Some citizens have been already contacted, and the rest of the complaints are being examined, the source added.
 
The source said there will be new working hours for the office during Ramadan. It will be open from 10 am to 1 pm.
 
The citizens' complaints office was set by by Predident Mohamed Morsy shortly after he took office on 30 June.
