Dozens chant anti-military slogans in Tahrir

Dozens gathered in Cairo's Tahrir Square Tuesday night protested the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces' (SCAF) failure to announce a clear plan for transferring power to a civilian government.

The demonstrators were surrounded by large numbers of military police.

Tahrir Square was the epicenter of mass protests in January that toppled former President Hosni Mubarak in February.

The area has been under military and police control since they broke up a more than three-week sit-in on 1 August.

One protester said the group there on Tuesday planned to stage daily protests until 9 September, when a number of political groups have called for a protest against the SCAF's performance and military prosecution of civilians.
