The Doctors Syndicate will stage a protest on Monday to demand a solution for the postgraduate studies issue, after sending a letter on Sunday to Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar to notify him about the protest.
In a statement on Sunday, the syndicate called for increasing number of those accepted in the coming fellowship movement to up to 4,000 doctors, indicating financial allocations to support the increase of number of trainees.
The statement stressed the need for more coordination between the Health Ministry, faculties of medicine and the Egyptian Fellowship to admit all the applying doctors instead of resuming the current system of organizing cooperation programs among the faculties at fees reaching LE20,000, which the statement considered a trend toward privatization of the graduate studies.
