DNA analysis uncovers identity of drowned body, nearby Stanley Bridge

The top Prosecutor-General of East Alexandria, Mustafa Hany Zaki, stated on Wednesday that results of DNA analysis showed the identity of the deceased body which was drawn in the Mediterranean Sea is Mohammed Hassan Shawky, nicknamed by “Majescu.”

Zaki ordered to deliver the body of Shawky, 21, a student at the Faculty of Commerce in Tanta University, to his family to bury him.

Shawky’s father said that he will bury his son’s body in Matrouh city after results of DNA proved that it is the corpse of his son.

The River Rescue Squad in Alexandria lifted a naked, water-blown body, on Monday, January 8, after it was drowned between rocks, nearby Stanley Bridge.

Stanley Bridge, one of the most famous landmarks in Alexandria, witnessed the terrible accident on January 2 when a car driven by a student at the Monufiya University’s Faculty of Commerce hit three students standing on the bridge, injuring one of them and causing two of them to fall into the sea.
