Political groups are differing over whether the demonstration planned for Friday in Tahrir Square should be called “Last Warning Friday” or “Square Legitimacy”.
At the demonstration, some groups plan to demand a replacement of the current government with a national reconciliation government, which will abolish military tribunals, dismiss the attorney general, expedite trials of police officers accused of killing demonstrators, and review the state budget.
Other groups have said that they will boycott the demonstration.
“We shall not take part in anarchistic demonstrations,” said Jama’a al-Islamiya spokesman Essam Abdel Maged.
A Muslim Brotherhood source said the group will also not participate in the demonstration, as it believes that the prime minister and the military council should be given ample time to meet their promises.
Some activists, on the other hand, have called for a march to express support for the ruling military council.
Tahrir Square was calm on Thursday, save for a few minor clashes at entry check points.
