A member of the founding committee of the National Front Party, Diaa Rashwan, explained on Saturday that the establishment of the new party came after the boom in party formation that Egypt witnessed after the January 25 and June 30 revolutions.
During his interview with TV host Amr Adib, presenter of the “al-Hekaya” show (The Story) on MBC Misr Channel, Rashwan added that the National Front Party is the fruit of the national dialogue.
He stressed that the party aims to restore prestige to Egyptian politics, adding that party life in Egypt has become mature enough after the stability of the state.
He assured that it does not desire to monopolize the system either.
Rashwan stressed that the National Front Party does not seek to rule, nor does it seek to form a government during the coming period, noting that the idea of obtaining rule will be a partnership, if that is achieved in the future.
He continued: “There are no loyalist parties in Egypt (to the government), and there is no such thing as a loyalist party. Parties rule or oppose, and Egypt does not have a ruling party. Loyalty is a term specific to those who volunteer to support an existing government.”
Rashwan added that the new party does not want to be merely a starting point for those aspiring to reach membership in parliament.
