Lawyer Ali Fayez, the attorney for the security guard assaulted by Al-Ahly player Emam Ashour, revealed that Ashour is not out of hot water just yet.
In a phone-in to the “Khlassa El Kalam” program on the Al Nahar channel, the lawyer stated that the verdict against Ashour did not include bail, meaning any judgment is immediately enforceable.
“This means that if Emam Ashour is arrested at any time, he will remain in custody until the date of the appeal hearing, despite the reconciliation,” he explained.
The lawyer pointed out that the upcoming appeal hearing will be on November 20, noting that Ashour’s presence is “mandatory.”
Fayez refused to disclose the amount of compensation received by his client, indicating that it was less than the amount he requested in the lawsuit of five million LE.
An appeals court in Sheikh Zayed convicted Ashour of six months in prison after the prosecution appealed the player’s acquittal in the case.
