Deputy Foreign Minister for African Affairs Hamdy Sanad Loza chaired Egypt’s delegation to the 22nd Extraordinary Session of the African Union (AU) Executive Council of Foreign Affairs Ministers that kicked off in Addis Ababa on Friday 15/03/2024.
On its Facebook page, the Foreign Ministry said the ministerial meeting discusses the mechanisms and rules for electing the African Union Commission’s leadership, which is scheduled to be held during the next AU Summit in February 2025.
The leadership elections include selecting the African Union Commission Chairperson, the Deputy Chairperson and the six Commissioners.
